Pink Frost Christmas Tree.

This is what it looked like with some white paint/primer sprayed on.  It took a ton of spraying to get coverage.  A ton of spraying.
6 cans of paint/primer just made a dent. Jbs (aka hubby) cleaned out the shelves at the GitMo, so this is what I had to work with.  They had 2 each of these brands. Coverage was similar for both brands but spraying was easier with the Rustoleum nozzle, which was a huge deal when spraying 6 cans.
I could barely take a selfie.
Optical illusion happening here. Color Theory in action.  I put pink lights on it and it somehow is making the tree look greener than it really is.  Next year, white lights.  Will that make it look pinker?  I do love it.  It looks like it has pink frost all over it.
Homemade ornaments.
She's hip.

Drying Methods.

I know you can't see the wind, duh, but believe me, its gusting 50mph-or so the weatherman claims.  I figure that will dry this paint fast.  I'll do anything not to have to wait for the heat gun to work its magic, that takes waaay too long.
While I was out there I went ahead and started a couple more backgrounds.  Why not?...paint was already  f l y i n g.
This is my usual drying method, putting wet paintings on the registers in this ol' farmhouse.  It works beautifully, and so fast.  Love it.

Painting Faces

Unfinished.  I am trying to scoop up some paint now to make something happen here, but instead I am shivering.  This ol' farmhouse is drafty and takes a  while to warm up.  Yesterday this rather goofy little plaque from the oddest store got collaged.  Now its getting a painting over it.  But, I have a busy morning ahead with hungry teens and hungry ponies to feed and pilates doesn't get crossed off the list unless I do it.  THAT     will warm me up, but the  paintings will need to wait.  (story of my life)  Sometimes I get SO MUCH DONE avoiding the canvas, I could be fit as a fiddle at this rate.
I will try to post posts worth posting for all you lovelies to enjoy...this little blog is a brand spankin' new baby to me, an infant.  How exciting.
These guys await features...  (they're not this blurry in real life:-)
Isn't this the silliest figure.?  A person in a long winter's cap.  So far anyway, until it changes.
Creepy figures emerging.  This one is larger, 12x24  birch panel.
Another view, lots of collage, not so much paint yet.  Today, its going to happen by gosh.

Way Too Cold Outside This Morning.

This morning's view going up into the tree tunnel.  Frost on the windshield and a sharp wind, which doesn't show up in the photo.  But its there and its cold.
It just makes it that much nicer inside where the wax is warm.  This is an encaustic painting on a wood panel, "Welcome House".
Close up, attempting to show luscious wax here.
