Fast. Easy. No Pressure.

She emerged a couple mornings ago.  I kind of liked her expression.

And these guys, I like that the are trees growing right out of his head.

This one is ready for action.

Simple little morning watercolours.  Fast.  Easy.  No pressure.

Who Is That Guy?

I couldn't stop looking at this when I saw it.  At first I thought it was one of those fake faces that one might place on a tree.  Do they even make those?

I had to snap that photo and now I had to paint him.

I did another painting of the regular woods, without that guy.

So now its all packaged up and for sale at the gallery.

Isn't it funny, once I paint it I'm done with it.  I don't need it anymore.  I'm so thankful for Starbrick, I can take it there instead of storing it under my bed. Maybe, just maybe, someone will come along and it will make them happy.

Who is this guy?!!?

New Art Galore.

Everything looks so pretty at the gallery today, even the shadows.

We got a lot of new pottery and its all really special-every single piece.

this eyeball teapot is to-die-for.

And these, I want them all.

And look at this one, exquisite.  You should see it in person and feel it.  Its awesome.

Each piece is really wonderful.

This little bowl kind of "goes with" the mugs.

And this spiral platter, totally beautiful.

Meanwhile, if you turn around you'll see we have a new buffet.  Its in good shape and has lots of nice details.

And another teapot.

She has antlers.

New paintings on the walls...

This one is a solvent transfer.

There's actually a flute in the basement.  I like the looks of this thing, it makes me want to play the flute.

And we all need these around Halloweentime.

We got some new (Vintage) quilts, just like Grandma used to make.

And some Watercolor quilt-block squares.

Actually a whole slew of unframed watercolors to flip through.

Framed paintings too.

This little tiara model came in and went right to work.

This was our littlest customer today.  She admired everything and we admired her.  Another fabulous day at Starbrick Gallery in historic downtown Nelsonville.

Encaustic Snippets, Handpainted Bamboo, and Adventure Kittens.

Life has been so incredibly busy lately.  Is it just that time of year, springtime?

It seems like its always this way, every spring.

And its not just me, everybody's busy.

So this is all I could manage today in the studio.  I made an encaustic portrait but I can't show it to you yet.  These were areas I liked.

And these.  These are bamboo "beads".  They're about the size of a domino.  I found them at Pat Catan's on clearance for fitycent, so I now own a ton of them.

This is not the finished vision, rather a first step...

Meanwhile,

the babies are growing.  They're not infants anymore.

They're 5 1/2 weeks old, old enough to begin learning about the real world.  So today they went with me on an errand.  It was their first Adventure Kitten training and they were real troopers.

As soon as they got back home they were little babies once again.  Thirsty little babies.

I went in the house and watercoloured a background for my June daily spread. This is the June palette.  It felt nice to sit and play with paints in the cool house...

and think about the day and the Adventurers and their little cute faces just looking, looking at the big world out there and trying to figure it all out.  I suppose this watercolour is helping me figure it all out in some way.  Just putting the paint on the paper, that simple act, that's whats important.

Oh, and Adventure Training.  That's important too.

Now, a poem, written first thing this morning after being assaulted by orange while rubbing the sleep out of my eyes.

                                 The Sea Will Rise
                                   by tereSager
The Sea will rise
against the lies
of mankind's whim
to have and hold.

So our big cheese
can eat and fly
and lie and tweet
before goodbye.

It is the mission
of his mind
to rule and be the one we see
upon waking-
first thing-
because of his important importance.
"Only I".  I am the one
to save us all from doom?
All the while
being
very very very
important.
